Party Presets and Types

Learn how to use TLGM's Party System to organize groups with Party Types, Presets, and Automatic Assignment for Throne and Liberty.

Party Presets and Types - Getting Started

Overview

The TLGM Party System helps you organize and manage groups efficiently. It consists of three main features:

  1. Party Types - Templates that define what roles and weapons a party should have
  2. Party Presets - Collections of party types for different activities
  3. Automatic Party Assignment - Smart system that places players in appropriate groups

Party Types

Party types are the building blocks of your group organization. They define what roles and weapons you want in a specific group.

What is a Party Type?

  • A template for a single party (up to 6 members)
  • Defines required roles (Tank, Healer, DPS)
  • Specifies preferred weapon combinations for each role
  • Helps ensure balanced group composition

Creating Party Types

  1. Give your party type a descriptive name (e.g., "PvP Point Control")
  2. Add roles in order of priority
  3. For each role:
    • Select role type (Tank, Healer, or DPS)
    • Configure weapon preferences (up to 3 combinations)
    • Arrange roles in your preferred order using drag and drop

Setting Weapon Preferences

Each role can have up to 3 weapon combinations. Available weapons include:

  • Sword and Shield
  • Greatsword
  • Daggers
  • Crossbow
  • Bow
  • Staff
  • Wand and Tome
  • Spear

To set preferences:

  1. Click "Add Weapon Preference" for a role
  2. Select a primary weapon
  3. Select a secondary weapon
  4. Add additional combinations if needed
  5. Order preferences by importance

Example Party Types

  • Point Control:
    • Tank (Templar: Sword and Shield + Wand and Tome)
    • Healer (Invocator: Staff + Wand and Tome)
    • 3 DPS (Sentinel/Infiltrator combinations)
    • 1 Flex DPS (based on need)
  • Backline Harassment:
    • Tank (Crusader: Greatsword + Sword and Shield)
    • 2 Healers (Invocator: Staff + Wand and Tome)
    • 3 DPS (Infiltrator/Scorpion: focus on mobility)
  • World Boss:
    • Tank (Warden: Sword and Shield + Bow)
    • 2 Healers (Invocator: Staff + Wand and Tome)
    • 3 DPS (Sentinel/Paladin for sustained damage)

Party Presets

Party presets help you manage multiple groups for larger-scale PvP activities.

What is a Party Preset?

  • A collection of party types for different roles in large-scale combat
  • Used to automatically create multiple balanced groups
  • Can include up to 50 different party types
  • Perfect for organizing territory control groups

Using Party Presets

  1. Create a preset with a clear name (e.g., "Territory Defense")
  2. Add party types in order of priority
  3. Assign the preset to activities
  4. Let the system automatically organize players

Common Use Cases

  • Territory Control: Mix of point control and roaming groups
  • World Boss Events: PvE-focused groups with specific weapon requirements
  • Large Scale PvP: Specialized groups for different objectives
  • Guild vs Guild: Balanced compositions for organized combat

Automatic Party Assignment

When players join your activity, TLGM automatically assigns them to appropriate parties based on your settings.

How Assignment Works

  1. Static Party Priority
    • Keeps established teams together
    • Perfect for maintaining practiced group compositions
    • Ensures coordinated teams stay together
  2. Regular Assignment
    • Matches players based on their role and weapon setup
    • Considers party type requirements
    • Balances groups based on gear score
    • Creates new parties when needed

Assignment Priorities

The system considers these factors in order:

  1. Static Party Membership
    • Maintains practiced team compositions
    • Keeps successful groups together
  2. Role Requirements
    • Ensures each party has required roles
    • Matches weapon preferences for roles
    • Prioritizes essential role coverage
  3. Gear Score Balance
    • Distributes players evenly based on gear score
    • Helps maintain balanced group strength

Best Practices

Setting Up Party Types

  • Create specific types for different combat roles
  • Define weapon preferences based on role function
  • Consider range and utility requirements
  • Plan for different scenarios (PvP/World Boss)

Managing Presets

  • Create different presets for Territory Control and World Bosses
  • Use clear naming conventions
  • Update presets as meta changes
  • Review and adjust based on performance

Using Static Parties

  • Use for practiced teams
  • Keep successful combinations together
  • Update as strategies evolve
  • Great for coordinated plays

    • Coordinate strategies with group leads
  3. Regular Maintenance
    • Update party types as meta shifts
    • Adjust for balance changes
    • Keep static parties current
  4. Flexibility
    • Have variations ready for different scenarios
    • Consider counter-compositions
    • Be ready to adapt to enemy strategies
